Our 2026 Season: Two Teams, Two New Divisions

The 2026 season was a big step for MOP Cricket. After last year's promotion, MOP 1 played their first season in the Derde Klasse, and MOP 2 took the field in the Vierde Klasse for the first time. Both teams faced established clubs from across the country, and both came away with valuable experience and plenty to build on.

MOP 1 – Derde Klasse (Poule 3D)

MOP 1 finished 5th out of 8 teams in their debut season at this level. From 14 matches they won 5, lost 8 and had one no-result, for a total of 11 points. The middle of the table was tight all season, and MOP 1 finished ahead of Quick 1888, Hercules 4 and Hengelo. Holding their own in a higher division in the first year is a solid result and a strong base for next season.

MOP 2 – Vierde Klasse (Poule 4E)

MOP 2 finished 8th in a poule of 9 teams, with 6 wins from 16 matches and 12 points. For a team playing league cricket for the first time, six wins is something to be proud of. Many players got their first taste of competitive cricket this year, and the lessons learned will make us stronger in 2027.

Thank you, captains

A big thank you to our captains, Shiva and Salman. Leading a team in a new division takes time, patience and a lot of work behind the scenes: organising teams, travelling across the country and keeping everyone motivated through the wins and the tough days. Thank you both for everything you gave this season.

Looking ahead

Winter training starts soon, and we are already looking forward to 2027. New players of all levels are always welcome at MOP. Interested? Get in touch with us or come along to a training session.
